Our school successfully hosted a Parent Education Talk titled "正向語言創造正向家庭" on 21st September 2024. The session was led by Ms. Cheung Siu Yung, Smile (張笑容女士), founder and director of Smile Training & Development. Ms. Cheung is highly regarded for her expertise in family education, positive psychology, and her work as a host and producer of various radio and TV programs focused on parenting and education.

Parents from N.T. Heung Yee Kuk Yuen Long District Secondary School and our school attended the talk. Ms. Cheung shared her extensive knowledge of how positive language can strengthen parent-child relationships and create a more harmonious family environment. She emphasized the importance of using affirming and supportive communication in daily interactions with children to nurture their emotional well-being and confidence.

The seminar featured several interactive activities, including role-playing exercises and group discussions, where parents actively participated and practiced the communication strategies introduced by Ms. Cheung. These activities allowed parents to engage directly with the techniques, helping them understand how to incorporate positive language into real-life parenting scenarios. The hands-on approach made the concepts more relatable and easier to apply at home.

Parents revealed that they learned a great deal from the session, particularly in terms of practical methods they could implement immediately to improve communication with their children. They expressed appreciation for Ms. Cheung’s engaging presentation and her clear and practical advice. Parents stated that the seminar gave them more confidence in handling everyday parenting challenges and fostering a supportive environment for their children.
