Last month, our school lit up with the vibrant energy of English Academic Week, held from November 17 to November 21. We are delighted to report that the event was a remarkable success, thanks largely to our dedicated English Ambassadors. Their hard work and passion made that week truly special!
The festivities kicked off each morning with a delightful song dedication featuring uplifting English songs. These positive melodies provided students with a refreshing start to their day, energizing everyone for the exciting activities ahead.
At the S1 level, students showcased their creativity through a Bookmark Design Competition, held in collaboration with the Reading to Learn Team. We are thrilled to announce that the winner was Wong Ying-ching! Her outstanding design will be made into a bookmark and distributed to students throughout the school—congratulations, Ying-ching!
For our S2 students, a Voice-Over Competition allowed them to shine while showcasing their creativity and talent. We had so much fun watching their performances! Additionally, we joined forces with the Reading to Learn Team once again for a MasterChef Mystery Box Cooking Workshop. Students followed English-written recipes to bake delicious bread pudding, and their success was sweet!
English Academic Week also included a S2 Positivity Message Writing session, where students shared uplifting notes to cheer up the entire school community. This initiative fostered a warm and encouraging environment, celebrating the spirit of positivity.
Our English Speaking Days were expanded to include S3 students during the Academic Week, creating even more opportunities for conversation and practice. Students participated in tongue twisters and engaging board games like Scribble, all while enjoying a rich English learning environment.
One of the highlights of the week was the "Sing Along" Talent Show, where students dazzled us with performances of classic songs and popular hits. Our English teachers even joined in on the fun by performing, spreading joy throughout the auditorium!
In addition to all these exciting hands-on experiences, we provided students with valuable resources on information literacy, including mind-mapping and reflection activities.
Overall, the English Academic Week was a fantastic celebration of language, creativity, and community. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the contributions of our English Ambassadors. Their efforts have truly strengthened our English learning environment, and we look forward to more inspiring events in the future!
