It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School. We pride ourselves on providing an engaging and supportive environment in which our students are empowered to reach new heights and unleash their potential with confidence.
Through our school mottos, Wisdom, Virtue, Honesty and Progress, we are committed to developing students’ individual capacities and expanding their intellectual horizon. We seek to provide the best opportunities for nurturing values and attitudes, development of skills and core competencies through positive learning environment and quality programmes. The school endeavours to educate our students to become caring, responsible and compassionate citizens who make lasting impact on the community.
In our fine tradition, we have motto of the school year which anchors the school's direction. For the year of 2019 to 2020, our students are inspired to ‘Be Grateful, Be Hopeful’. Gratitude is the open door to abundance. It is about giving thanks in all circumstances and never taking things for granted. It is the attitude that helps us see the half glass of water as half full instead of half empty. It is our wish that our students start each day with a grateful heart and make it a habit to count our blessings every day. Be hopeful ~ amid the uncertainty and unknown, our students are inspired to cherish hope in their hearts and have faith in face of adversity. The road of striving for academic excellence and pursuing dreams of lives may be long and winding. It is my wish that whatever the circumstances, my students will stay hopeful.
We are halfway in the three-year School Development Plan for 2018-2021. Building on the successful accomplishment of the Annual School Plan of last year, we will move forward with our major concerns. The first major concern is to enhance students’ academic performance by raising the effectiveness of learning and teaching. We will accomplish this through equipping students with diversified learning strategies, developing junior form students’ learning skills and habits, reading across the curriculum, employing strategies to cater for learner diversity and strengthening collaboration exercise through curriculum study. The second major concern is to promote students’ positive thinking and mental health and to stretch students’ potentials’. Students will enjoy programmes which help instill in them positive mindset, develop resilience to deal with adversity and provide life-wide learning experience to unleash their potential.
With a grateful heart, I feel privileged to have been appointed as the school Principal and entrusted to lead the school forward to achieve academic excellence and nurture tomorrow’s leaders. I hope this website gives you a glimpse of what life is like in our school. I look forward to welcoming you all to our family of CLSMSS.
