Two teams from our school took part in the " Walking with History: Hong Kong Secondary School Students' Time Travel Novel Competition", which was co-organized by the Department of History at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Loke Kok Kuen Chinese Cultural Legacy Research Trust, and Education Network. After competing in the preliminary and final rounds, our students were pleased to receive the "優異獎" and the "最完整還原歷史場景獎".

The competition aimed to unleash students' creativity through writing time-travel novels, spark their interest in history, and promote traditional Chinese culture to them. Nearly 60 teams from 23 secondary schools participated in the preliminaries. Students began by drafting a novel outline, and those who advanced were selected for the finals. Our S.5 and S.6 students formed two teams that successfully made it to the finals. They attended two training sessions and were tasked with writing a novel of up to 10,000 words set in the Tang Dynasty, which they presented on 14th September 2024 at Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

In the finals, 21 teams competed for eight awards. Our two teams excelled by winning a total of two awards: the S.5 team (ZHANG Tsz-yeung, LEE Chi-kuen, HO Pak-yui, CHAN Ka-kei) received the "優異獎" for their novel "同根別樣的長安", while the S.6 team (WONG Lok-lam, LEE Yeuk-lam, CHEN Sum-yuet) won the "最完整還原歷史場景獎" for their work "望西都". The organizers also plan to compile the finalists’ works into both an e-book and a printed book.
