CLSMSS 45th Anniversary Banquet – Perpetuate our spirit across generations, Embrace the future with solidarity

Close to 300 members of the CLSMSS community gathered at the Red Duke Banquet Restaurant on the evening of 18th May 2024 for our 45th Anniversary Banquet. The evening brought together alumni, friends, parents and staff from the past and present to reconnect, celebrate, and honour our school and its founder – the late Mr. Chiu Lut Sau who envisioned to build a school that would allow her students to ‘reach their full potential’, and perpetuate the school’s spirit across generations.

The banquet was graced by distinguished guests which included Mr. Kenneth Chiu, from the Chiu family, past and present SMC Chairpersons, Mrs. IP TSANG Chui-hing, Betty, Mr. TSUI Kai-cheung, Edwin, and the present Chairperson, Mr. LEUNG Pak-wai, Ashley; and former principals of our school since its inception. In attendance on the evening were Mrs. CHENG LAU Yuk-king, Mrs. LO CHOY Yin-fon, Margaret and her husband, Mr. KONG Yick Cheong and Ms. LEE Siu-yuk Hilda and her husband. Under their capable stewardship, CLSMSS has risen from a school of humble origins to one of eminence in Yuen Long district.

Helmed by former Cable TV News Anchor, Ms. CaCa Lam (from class of 2005), the dinner got off to a rousing start with everyone singing quite possibly the most impressive rendition of the school song. This was followed by a welcome speech made by our current principal, Ms. WOO Kit ching, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the care and support shown by various sectors towards the school; particularly the construction of the School History Gallery, which received generous support from alumni and members of the community. The School History Gallery and its murals bear witness to the close bond between the school and the Yuen Long community, nurturing enduring friendships. Over the past 45 years, the school has nurtured alumni who have excelled in various fields, achieving remarkable success.

The evening was a memorable gathering of the CLSMSS family on a scale unparalleled in her history. Guests shared memories, reconnected with old friends, and celebrated the school's enduring legacy. Everyone savoured the warm ambient atmosphere where aplenty handshakes, pictures of camaraderie and friendships reigned. The audience delighted in the montage of photos and videos which flashed vivid images of the different eras at CLSMSS, and were treated to a raffle draw.

It was heartwarming to see so many friends from CLSMSS’s past and present come together to mark the special occasion. The 45th anniversary banquet was a resounding success, and attested to our school’s motto of perpetuating our spirit across generations, and embracing the future with solidarity.
