The weather of April was very unstable but there was a brief improvement for 21 April, the day that a group of 30 students, teachers and alumni went on a field trip, organized by the Hiking Club, to Tai Shek Mo in the North District. They first walked through Sheung Shui Town and Tin Ping Shan Tsuen to look for the evidence of urban renewal and urban encroachment. They then gathered along Ng Tung River to study channelization. After that, they examined the fluvial processes through the information recorded in the sedimentary rock of Tai Shek Mo. Finally they took a minibus at Ho Sheung Heung to Sheung Shui and the trip ended joyously.
