Mr TAI Lun, Paul, an alumnus of CLSMSS (Form 7, 1986) and a director of Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School Alumni Association Limited (“CLSMSSAAL”), has been honoured with the Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong 2012 by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in recognition of his remarkable achievements and contributions to the local economy and the industry.
The Award was presented by the Hon Gregory So, GBS, JP, Secretary for Commence & Economic Development on behalf of Federation of Hong Kong Industries to Paul Tai.
“The Federation of Hong Kong Industries first organised the YIAH in 1988 to give public recognition to the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong’s young industrialists. A total of 175 young industrialists have received the Awards in the past 24 years. The nominee’s business achievements, his or her business vision, contributions and commitment to industry and community, as well as personal character constitute all the major criteria for consideration in the judging process.”
Paul was our school’s first Head Boy and he served the position from 1980 to 1984. He demonstrated strong leadership skills and gained respect from his teachers and peer students. After graduation in CLSMSS, Paul continued his study in Hang Seng School of Commerce, and attained the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification in 1993. Paul completed his Master of Business Administration studies at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2002.
Paul joined Mainetti in 1992 when it was a small trading company in Hong Kong. As a vital member of the vanguard in the strategic expansion of Mainetti into Asia, he became General Manager of Mainetti’s Singapore operations in 1998 and was appointed as Financial Director of its China and Far East operations in 2000. Paul was appointed as Regional Director in 2008.
Over the years, under the leadership of Paul, Mainetti expanded its supply chain in China and the Far East with offices and manufacturing facilities and the staff number increased to over 2,000. Paul’s biggest achievement in his business development is people management and partnership alliance.
In addition to Paul’s contribution to Mainetti's business growth, he is also the originator of many Mainetti’s corporate social responsibilities (“CSR”) activities in China. Since 2005, two school rebuilding projects in China have been completed and Mainetti is also involved in many other special projects focusing on underprivileged children in China and Far East. Paul continues to participate actively in community services in Hong Kong, with a particular focus in education.
The Official Award Presentation Ceremony and Dinner was held on 15th November 2012 at the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre. Together with other hundreds guests of the event, Paul invited 70 guests from the shareholders, business partners, management, friends and family members to share his joy and happiness.
