The 35th Anniversary Open Day of Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School was held on a day with fine weather and a gentle breeze on 13 March 2014. The Opening Ceremony of the Open Day cum the Curtain-up Ceremony of the New Mural was conducted with the honorary presence of Mr. CHAN Ka-wai, Principal of Queen Elizabeth School, Mr. TO Kok-on, Principal of Art and Technology Education Centre, Mr. WONG Ip-cheung, Principal of Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School, Mr. YAN Cheuk-tong, Chairperson of the Parents’ and Teachers’ Association, and Mr. POON Tak-cheung, Director of CLSMSS Alumni Association Limited. Our Principal, Mrs. LO CHOY Yin-fon, Margaret, launched the ceremony with an opening speech. After that, the guests together with Mrs. LO and the Assistant Principals, Mr. CHAN Yan-kei and Ms. LEUNG Yee-hing, Nancy, conducted the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and the Curtain-up Ceremony of the New Mural to officiate the Open Day.

The theme of the Open Day was ‘Love Our School, Share the Moments, Try Our Best and Strive for Excellence’. Our teachers and students prepared for the Open Day for months in order to show the public and the community the achievement of our students in various aspects and their wonderful school life in CLSMSS. Apart from many and various game stalls displaying the creativity and collaboration of our students in the classrooms, there were informative displays of different teams and committees, showing the Other Learning Experiences (OLE) of our students, in Lut Sau Hall. To add spice to the delightful atmosphere, there were musical performances, and Chinese and English drama performances to let the guests know more about the talents and versatility of our students. Guided tours of the campus were provided for primary students of our neighbouring schools to help them get a better idea of how the secondary school life is like in CLSMSS. They visited different places of our school and the laboratories, and tried out some interesting experiments.

All in all, the continuous flow of visitors and their encouraging feedback are not only positive commendation to us but also recognition that Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School has been nurturing her students to be all-round and intellectual individuals throughout the years in the region.
