Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School held its 32nd Annual Speech Day on 29 November, 2014. Hundreds of enthusiastic graduates, prize-winners and their families, guests, alumni, students and other stakeholders of our school attended the ceremony. This year we were especially honoured to have Mr. POON Tak-cheong, Raymond, a distinguished alumnus of our school and a partner of the Financial Services Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, as our Guest of Honour.

The Principal, Mrs. LO CHOY Yin-fon, Margaret, presented the school report in which she highlighted the achievements and the outstanding results of the graduates in the third Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination. Mrs. LO also emphasized students’ all-round development and the awards they earned in a wide spectrum of aspects including sports, cultural exchange, music and drama over the past ten years. She mentioned that 2014 was one of the most memorable years in her life as it was the school’s 35th Anniversary and her 10th year serving in CLSMSS, the last school she serves before her retirement in September 2015. Finally, Mrs. LO expressed her gratitude to the SMC members, former principals, PTA, Alumni Association, Assistant Principals and all staff members for their support and contribution to the school throughout the last ten years.

Our Guest of Honour, Mr. POON, addressed an inspiring speech to the graduates. He shared his story as a student of CLMSSS and how he overcame challenges in life with them. He reminded them that relationships and memories in their secondary school life are as precious as knowledge. For the graduates, leaving their mother school means the beginning of a new chapter in their stories. He then encouraged them to keep pursuing their dreams with perseverance and passion.

Lastly, KONG Yu, the student representative of the school, delivered the Vote of Thanks to the school on behalf of all graduates. The ceremony ended in a joyful atmosphere with the delightful and joyous performances of the School Orchestra, the Dance Club and the School Choir..
