Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School held its 28th Annual Speech Day on November 27, 2010. Hundreds of graduates and their families, students, alumni and other stakeholders of our school attended the ceremony. This year we were especially honoured to have Mr. Edmond CHUNG, a graduate of CLSMSS and the Chairman of the Yau Tsim Mong District Council, as our Guest of Honour.
The Principal, Mrs. Margaret LO, presented the school report in which she highlighted the outstanding achievements of the graduates in the HKALE and HKCEE. Mrs. LO mentioned the awards students earned in various areas including sport, music and drama. Finally, Mrs. LO expressed her gratitude to the PTA, Alumni Union, SMC Members for their support and guidance.
Our Guest of Honor, Mr. CHUNG, addressed the graduates with an inspiring speech. Mr. CHUNG not only shared the ups and downs in his secondary school life with the graduates, he also thanked his teachers at that time for the care and encouragement that they had shown to the weaker students. Mr. CHUNG said that his experience at CLSMSS had equipped him with the ability to deal with difficult situations. He concluded by encouraging students to be optimistic even when facing adversity.
Lastly, LIU Yuen-tung, the student representative of the school, delivered a vote of thanks to the school on behalf of all graduates. The ceremony ended in a joyful atmosphere with the wonderful performances of the Dance Club and School Choir.
